DOE/EA-2143: LanzaTech Freedom Pines Fuels LLC Commercial-Scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel; Treutlen County, Georgia

Summary

LanzaTech is proposing to construct a commercial scale biofuel production facility near Soperton, Georgia and has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Business-Cooperative Service (RBCS) that describes the project, assesses the proposed project’s environmental impacts, and summarizes as applicable any mitigation measures used to minimize environmental effects. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to support a subset of the project activities through a cost-shared cooperative agreement with LanzaTech and is therefore a cooperating agency with RBCS on the EA. RBCS and DOE have conducted an independent evaluation of the environmental assessment and believe that it accurately assesses the impacts of the proposed project.

For more information see the LanzaTech Freedom Pines Fuels LLC Final EA and the LanzaTech Freedom Pines Fuels LLC Findings of No Significant Impacts.
