Crystal Springs Hatchery Program; Bingham, Custer, and Lemhi Counties, Idaho

In 2017, DOE’s Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) issued draft DOE/EIS-0500, Crystal Springs Hatchery Program, which assessed potential environmental impacts of funding a proposal of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of the Fort Hall Reservation of Idaho to construct and operate a hatchery for spring/summer Chinook salmon in the Salmon River subbasin and Yellowstone cutthroat trout in the Upper Snake River subbasin on the Fort Hall Reservation. In November 2019, BPA announced the termination of EIS preparation because Shoshone-Bannock Tribes were developing an alternate implementation strategy to address site conditions.
