Methyl Chloride via Oxyhydrochlorination of Methane: A Building Block for Chemicals and Fuels from Natural Gas
The proposed Federal action, to provide cost-shared financial assistance for demonstration of the OHC process in an engineering scale facility, does not constitute a major Federal action that would significantly affect the quality of the human environment as defined by NEPA. This conclusion is based on the analysis contained in the EA. Therefore, an Environmental Impact Statement is not required and DOE is issuing this FONSI.
