The public scoping period for the Project Cypress Regional Direct Air Capture (DAC) Hub (Project Cypress) Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) started with the publication of the Notice of Intent (NOI) on November 1, 2024, and ended on December 16, 2024.
In-Person Public Scoping Meetings
As part of the NEPA scoping process, DOE hosted two public scoping meetings that provided an opportunity to gather information necessary to prepare an EIS for Project Cypress.

Written Scoping Comments
DOE also received written comments on the scope of the EIS until December 16, 2024. Comments will be considered in the draft EIS.
The public may view scoping comments received during the scoping period through the www.regulations.gov web portal after the closure of the scoping period. Comments will be accessible by navigating to www.regulations.gov and searching for Docket No. DOE-HQ-2024-0080.
Future Public Comment Opportunities
After the draft EIS is completed, DOE will publish a notice of availability (NOA) and request public comments on the draft EIS.
