In 2011, DOE issued the EIS to evaluate eight potential facilities across the U.S. for management and storage of elemental mercury. In 2013, DOE issued the Supplemental EIS (SEIS) to evaluate three additional potential locations for management and storage of elemental mercury, and to update some analyses from the 2011 EIS. To date, no ROD has been issued on the EIS. There has been no change to the proposed action as stated in the 2011 EIS or 2013 SEIS. DOE prepared a Supplement Analysis that evaluates changes in environmental conditions at the Waste Control Specialists facility near Andrews, Texas, that may have occurred since the EIS and SEIS were published.
