National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) prepared a Draft EA (DOE/EA-2237) for the Solvay Battery-Grade Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Manufacturing Facility project in Richmond County, Georgia. The Draft EA evaluates the potential environmental consequences of DOE providing financial assistance to Solvay Specialty Polymers USA, LLC (a member of the Syensqo Group). The project involves the construction of a chemical manufacturing facility for the production of PVDF (a highly non-reactive thermoplastic) for use in electric vehicle batteries.
