The U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) is requesting public input on the scope of an Environmental Assessment (EA) for TerraPower, LLC’s (TerraPower) Test and Fill Facility (TFF) Project, located in Lincoln County, Wyoming.
DOE is proposing to authorize the expenditure of federal funding by TerraPower to support the construction and operation of the TFF, a component of the TerraPower Natrium project. The TFF would be used to test components to qualify them for use in the Natrium reactor design. The TFF would provide the initial sodium fill for first Natrium plant. The research and fill from the TFF would also serve the sodium reactor community at large.
DOE is the lead federal agency in the preparation of the EA.
