Finding of No Significant Impact (DOE/EA-2166) for Final Rule, 10 CFR Part 435, “Energy Efficiency Standards for the Design and Construction of New Federal Low-Rise Residential Buildings” (RIN 1904-AF04)

Based on the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Final Rule (DOE/EA-2166), DOE has determined that revising the federal building energy efficiency standards to meet 2021 IECC would not be a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment within the meaning of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Therefore, an environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required, and DOE is issuing this Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
