February 24, 2021Amending License to Modify Right Embankment of the Priest Rapids Dam
DOE’s Richland Operations Office adopted “Amending License to Modify Right Embankment of the Priest Rapids Dam” as DOE/EA-2158. The EA was prepared by FERC for a Grant County Public Utility District request to amend its license for the Priest Rapids Dam to perform seismic upgrades on the right embankment. The proposal includes using Midway Substation Road on the Hanford Site as an access route to the construction site for up to two years. FERC’s proposed action was to amend the hydroelectric license for the dam, and the Richland Operations Office’s proposed action was to decide whether to allow the Public Utility District to use the road for its project.
