Contra Costa Canal Replacement Project; Contra Costa County, California

DOE/EA-1589 [insert project page URL] was prepared by the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) with DOE’s Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) as a cooperating agency. This EA analyzes the potential environmental impacts of a proposal to replace the unlined portion (3.97 miles) of the Contra Costa Canal, a BOR-owned facility, with a buried pipeline within BOR’s existing right-of-way (ROW). WAPA would relocate up to 40 structures of its existing Tracy-Contra Costa 69-kV transmission line; the new structures would be within the existing transmission line ROW.
