CX-270644: Colorado State University-Root Genetics in the Field to Understand Drought Adaptation and Carbon Sequestration

Specifically, the project team will (1) validate genes that cause larger root systems and produce lines with such phenotypes; (2) validate root-trait selection for improvement of nitrogen use efficiency; (3) test carbon sequestration hypotheses across 3 field seasons; (4) incorporate data into the researchers' MEMS model to enable high resolution soil and crop data.
