The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to The University of Oklahoma (OU) to design and demonstrate controlled fracturing and permeability increases to enhance geothermal resource production and power generation. The proposed project would involve stimulating existing wellbores within the previously developed Coso geothermal field owned by the US Navy and operated by the Coso Operating Company.
