The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to University of Illinois, Smart Energy Design Assistance Center (University of Illinois) to develop a training program for community college instructors focused on energy code compliance. Community college instructors would be trained to deliver energy code courses as part of trade school programs. State Energy Offices would also be given training. Training would be given via workshops, inperson, and through online training modules over a three-year period.
