The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to the Rocky Mountain Institute to help establish and coordinate a national Advanced Building Construction (ABC) Collaborative being launched by DOE. This Collaborative would help to facilitate connections between ABC research teams and other stakeholders in order to help transfer ABC technologies to market. The project would assemble a team of subject matter experts that would develop recommendations for the construction design of energy efficient retrofit and new buildings. The Collaborative would be comprised of building owners, developers, manufacturers, suppliers, architects, engineers, contractors, labor organizations, community organizations, financiers, insurers, government, research institutions, trade associations, and utilities.
