The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell) to develop a manufacturing methodology to produce fabric electrodes for use in redox flow batteries (RFBs). The process would incorporate machine learning and high-throughput screening (HTS) techniques into the electrode design process. The project would be completed over three Budget Periods (BPs), with a Go/No-Go Decision Point in between each BP. This NEPA review is applicable to all three BPs.
