The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to the University of Virginia (UVA) to develop a novel additive manufacturing (AM) process for the fabrication of thermoelectric devices. Machine learning protocols and high-throughput experimentation would inform development of the process. The process would then be tested via laboratory-scale synthesis of sample thermoelectric materials. All project activities would be completed over two Budget Periods (BPs), with a Go/No-Go Decision Point in between each BP. This NEPA Determination is applicable to all work activities for both BPs.
