The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (SIUC) to install 470 solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery storage at SIUC’s campus in Carbondale, IL. A number of communication modules would also be installed to provide backup cellular communication for first responders. Installation work would take approximately one year to complete, from the start of activities.
