The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT) for the design, development, and testing of porous-media-based concepts for the falling particle side of heat exchangers. More specifically, the project involves the testing of primary and secondary heat exchangers for sCO2 and heated water at different thermodynamic states to meet both power generation and industrial process heat demands simultaneously.
