The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to authorize the administration of a prize competition, known as the “American Made Promoting Registration of Inverters and Modules with Ecolabel (PRIME) Prize,” designed to incentivize manufacturers of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and inverters to validate and register their products according to the standards of the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) ecolabel operated by the Global Electronics Council (GEC).
