The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to the San Carlos Apache Tribe (SCA) to design, develop, construct, and install an integrated microgrid energy system, which would include a 500-kilowatt (kW), 1 megawatt hour (MWh) grid forming battery energy storage system (BESS), with microgrid controller and 750 kW of solar power generation.
