May 13, 2024The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to administer Congressionally Directed Spending to Marin Clean Energy (MCE) to install battery energy storage systems (BESS) at critical facilities across the service area. It is anticipated that with award activities, MCE would equip at least four non-profit facilities with an anticipated average battery size of 250-kilowatt hours, which would be paired with already existing, or planned, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. If a chosen facility does not have an existing PV system, the installation of a PV system would not be funded by this award.
