In this analysis, DOE has found that the 2022 edition of ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2022, "Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings," would achieve greater energy efficiency in buildings subject to the updated code than the 2019 edition of Standard 90.1 of the code. States must certify to DOE that they have reviewed and updated the provisions of their commercial codes to the 2022 edition of Standard 90.1 within 2 years after the publication of the final determination in the Federal Register.
