This activity installs a new vendor-designed, skid-mounted chemical feed system adjacent to the north side of the 285-11H Cooling Tower return flume per X-FCR-H-00001 (Rev.1) (attached). This new system is intended to replace the existing brominator system located on the 285-H basin pump deck. The skid will contain two 1,050 gallon double-walled tanks. One tank will contain ChemTreat CL49 (bromine and chlorine based biocide), and one tank will contain ChemTreat BL1302 (25% sodium hydroxide). These chemicals will replace ChemTreat C2189T and the dry soda ash currently being added to the cooling water. The skid will tie directly into the cooling water return header and the cooling water flume between the 285-11H tower and the 285-H basin. The skid will also contain metering pumps, sampling piping, analyzers, and instrumentation, all of which will be housed inside a leak-tight control enclosure.
