March 28, 2019Energía Costa Azul, S. de R.L. de C.V., a Mexican variable-capital, limited liability company with its principal place of business in Mexico City, Mexico, filed an application (Application) with the Office of Fossil Energy of the Department of Energy under section 3 of the Natural Gas Act on September 27, 2018. Energía Costa Azul states that it is submitting the Application in connection with the development of one of two sets of proposed Energía Costa Azul liquefaction and export terminal facilities. The Application in this proceeding pertains to the “Energía Costa Azul Large-Scale Project". In the Application, Energía Costa Azul requests long-term, multi-contract authorization to export domestically produced natural gas by pipeline from the United States to Mexico and, after liquefaction in Mexico, to deliver and consume the liquefied natural gas in Mexico and/or to re-export the Liquefied Natural Gas to other countries.
