The University of Minnesota, in collaboration with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, proposes to develop a probabilistic failure criterion of silicon carbide/silicon carbide composites under multi-axial loading, and to incorporate the criterion into a reliability analysis of the structural integrity of light water reactor silicon carbide/silicon carbide fuel cladding.
