CX-018391: Construction of New Platform at SC-4 Stream Surveillance Location

Abandon in place a sampling platform and construct a replacement sampling platform on Steel Creek near the SC Hwy 125 bridge. The sampling platform identified as SC-4 is located in an undeveloped and remote area of Savannah River Site. The replacement platform will be located 50-60 feet downstream from the current platform. The new platform will eliminate a potential safety hazard associated with the current platform. The hazard is associated with erosion due to stream channel shift.  The sampling conducted from this platform is required to meet the requirements of United States Department of Energy Order 458.1, Radiation Protection of the Public and the Environment.
