The Massachusetts Institute of Technology proposes to establish new thermomechanical experimental capability to investigate irradiated fuel concepts, in order to inform and validate high fidelity fuel performance tools. To achieve this, Massachusetts Institute of Technology proposes to purchase and install a hydraulic fatigue testing system, a split tube furnace, and micro 3D stereo cameras with a portable controller. The equipment will combine to give the ability for accurate measurement of advanced fuel cladding mechanical properties at temperatures of interest
