A large dissolved phase chlorinated solvent plume exists in groundwater at the A and M Area Southern Sector. A series of vertical recirculation wells are in place to treat trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene contamination in this portion of the A and M groundwater contamination plume.  Laboratory scale research performed by Savannah River National Laboratory has determined that the addition of a humate system should result in the enhanced attenuation of trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene present at Southern Sector.
