Forest County Potawatomi Community- Community Renewable Energy Deployment - Centralized Stone Lake Campus Biomass Heating Plant
CX(s) Applied: B5.1
Date: 05/28/2010
Location(s): Forest County, Wisconsin
Office(s): Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Golden Field Office

The Forest County Potawatomi Community ("FCPC' or the "Tribe") is deploying a diverse number of "off-the-shelf" renewable energy technologies throughout reservation lands in Forest County, Fond du Lac County and Milwaukee County. A biomass-fueled hot water boiler heating system will be installed at the Stone Lake Government Center. Up to 4 acres will be disturbed on and adjacent to developed areas at the Government Center. Air emissions will be small (emissions are estimated to be Particulate Matter: 8.2 tons per year [tpy], Nitrogen Oxide: 6.9 tpy, Sulfur Oxide: 3.0 tpy, Carbon Monoxide: 12.1 tpy, Volatile Organic Compounds: 1.6 tpy, Mercury: 0), and the project will not result in indoor concentrations of harmful substances. There will be no or negligible adverse effects to surface waters, groundwater, biological resources, cultural resources, or other environmentally sensitive resources. The project would not require disturbing hazardous substances.
