NNSA’s mission is performed in an ever-changing climate. Floods, wildfires, storms, and extreme heat and cold have the potential to jeopardize the NNSA mission and pose a threat to national security.
Last month, NNSA conducted a refresher course and maintenance training in Yerevan, Armenia, to keep Armenian emergency response personnel prepared and up to date should they need to respond to a radiological incident.
In late February, NNSA completed the purchase of Building 23 for the Kansas City National Security Campus to provide 450,000 square feet of manufacturing space for KCNSC’s expanding workload.
NNSA Administrator Jill Hruby wrapped up her visit to Nordic countries last month with a trip to Norway. In addition to discussing mutual concerns, she traveled to Kjeller, the site of an innovative joint U.S.-Norwegian nonproliferation effort.
