Building America’s nine Retrofit Solutions teams are working on community-focused field validation and demonstration projects. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s Building America Program has been a source of innovations in residential building energy efficiency and performance, indoor air quality and comfort, durability, quality, and affordability for over 25 years. The program works closely with industry organizations, contractors, builders, program implementers, and manufacturers, leveraging cutting-edge building science research to develop the solutions and best practices needed to advance energy efficiency in homes. 

With support from DOE’s national laboratories, research teams, and subject matter experts, Building America conducts research, field validation tests, and demonstrations to advance building technologies and construction best practices that meet America’s need for resiliency and health while also supporting a reliable energy system.
