Related to the deficiencies in implementing the LLNL quality assurance program at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
On November 9, 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments’ Office of Enforcement notified Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC, of its intent to investigate potential noncompliances with DOE nuclear safety program requirements (10 C.F.R. Part 830) related to the implementation of the quality assurance program that, at a minimum, resulted in the installation and use of nuclear safety affecting items from a supplier that was not properly evaluated.
