PARKING LOT SECURITY BARRIERS
If the parking lot security barrier arms are down, do not attempt to enter the site. Contact the Security Department at (716) 942-4330 for instructions.
MINIMUM PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
The following protective clothing/footwear is required for accessing the WVDP site:
- Sturdy work shoes/boots with appropriate tread for walking conditions; closed toe/top/sides and heels no greater than 2”
- Long pants
- Shirts with 4” (or longer) sleeves
- Yellow high visibility safety vest or equivalent (available at the Security Guard house)
PROHIBITED ARTICLES:
Please review the following list of prohibited articles below which are not permitted onto WVDP Site or the AOC property without appropriate authorization from the Safeguards & Security Manager or designee.
- Firearms, other dangerous or deadly weapons, ammunition, explosives, incendiary, and explosive devices.
- Privately owned recording equipment consisting of audio, video, optical, or data.
- Privately owned electronic equipment with a data exchange port capable of being connected to automated information system equipment and other data recording equipment. Approval requires Form WV-1629.
- Privately owned computers, personal digital assistant (PDA), and associated media. Approval requires Form WV-1629.
- Privately owned radio frequency transmitting equipment.
- Marijuana and other controlled substances including illegal drugs and associated paraphernalia.
- Prescription medication, prescribed by a physician, in its original packaging, is permitted.
- Any pepper spray or chemical mace products.
- Alcoholic beverages, open or full containers.
- Other items prohibited by law or considered detrimental to the project.
Failure to comply with regulations of prohibited items could result in confiscation of item(s) and/or arrest.
Note: As of March 2021, New York State enacted the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act, legalizing the adult recreational use of marijuana. However, the WVDP remains governed by Federal law which still prohibits the use or possession of marijuana under the Federal Controlled Substances Act.
IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED:
In order for an individual (i.e., a visitor, subcontractor, or delivery person) to gain access to the WVDP Site or the AOC, which includes open Public Meetings, the individual must present an acceptable form(s) of personal identification. Acceptable forms of identification include one (1) of the following Options:
Option #1: Present one (1) Primary Identity Document
Option #2: Present two (2) Secondary Identity Documents
Clarification Note:
- Individuals that have a current WVDP Picture Badge are not impacted by this requirement. Picture Badged personnel will continue to use their badges to enter WVDP facilities.
- Foreign Nationals are permitted access to open Public Meetings without prior DOE approval provided the individual complies with all security requirements, including presentation of acceptable ID. Foreign National access to the WVDP or the AOC for any reason other than an open Public Meeting is subject to the foreign national DOE approval process.
- For persons under age 18 who are unable to present a Primary Identity Document or two (2) Secondary Identity Documents, contact the CHBWV Security Manager at 716-942-4739.
OPTION #1 – PRIMARY IDENTITY DOCUMENTS
Under this option, you must present one (1) of the following forms of identification to gain access to the WVDP or AOC, including open Public Meetings. Forms of identification must be a current original document (i.e., not expired).
- Driver's licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent) from a REAL ID Compliant State/Territory listed in Table 1 (Note: State Licenses or State Photo Identity Cards that are stamped “Not For Federal Purposes” or equivalent language are not considered an acceptable Primary Identity Document. A Secondary Identity Document from Option #2 is required);
- U.S. Passport;
- U.S. Passport Card;
- U.S. Permanent Resident Card;
- DHS Trusted Traveler Cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST);
- Foreign Passport that contains a temporary I-551 stamp or a I-551 printed notation on a machine readable immigrant visa;
- Employment Authorization Document that contains a photograph (Form I-766);
- Nonimmigrant Alien Work Authorization – Foreign Passport and a Form I-94 or I-94A with matching names and an endorsement of the alien’s non-immigrant status provided the period of endorsement has not expired and not in conflict with any restrictions;
- Passport from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) or the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) with Form I-94 or I-94A indicating nonimmigrant admission under the Compact of Free Association Between the U.S. and the FSM or RMI;
- HSPD-12 PIV card;
- U. S. Military card or draft card;
- Military dependent’s ID card;
- Federally recognized, tribal-issued photo ID
- Federal, State or Local issued Official Law Enforcement Identification which contains a photograph.
Note: State Licenses or State Photo Identity Cards that are stamped “Not for Federal Purposes” or equivalent language are not considered an acceptable Primary Identity Document. A Secondary Identity Document from Option #2 is required.
OPTION #2 – SECONDARY IDENTITY DOCUMENTS
Under this option, you must present two (2) forms of identification in order to gain access to the WVDP or AOC, including open Public Meetings. The individual’s name must match both identity documents. Identity documents presented with names that do not match are not acceptable.
- Driver's licenses or state photo identity cards issued from a REAL ID Compliant State/Territory listed in Table 1 that are stamped “Not For Federal Purposes” or equivalent language.
- Employment ID card issued by federal, state, or local government agencies or entities provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address;
- School ID card with photograph;
- Voter’s registration card;
- U. S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Card;
- Native American Tribal document;
- Driver’s license issued by a Canadian government authority;
- Transportation worker identification credential;
- Border crossing card;
- Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card;
- An original Social Security Account Number card;
- Certification of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State (Form FS-545);
- Certification of Report of Birth issued by the Department of State (Form DS-1350);
- Original or certified copy of birth certificate issued by a State, county or municipal authority, or territory of the U.S. bearing an official seal;
- U.S. Citizen ID Card (Form I-197);
- Identification Card for Use of Resident Citizen in the United States (Form I-179);
- Employment authorization document issued by the Department of Homeland Security.
