Matt Hill serves as the Budget Analyst for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Technology Transitions. Matt is responsible for budget policy development and maintenance; budget process planning and development, budget formulation, development of management-level budget presentation requirements; coordination of budget execution analyses; maintenance of budget databases for budget formulation and execution activities for control purposes; keeps OTT management informed of status of financial operations and funding levels; and performs analyses of program submissions and various statistical analyses of varying appropriations to ensure sound management control processes are implemented.
Matt previously served as a Budget Analyst for the Department’s Idaho Operations Office where he was responsible for the budget execution of $962M in Infrastructure Facilities Management, Safeguards and Securities, Naval Reactors and 14 other HQ Program Secretariat Offices. Matt also worked for Idaho National Laboratory, where he coordinated budget planning and funding authorization of approximately $75M/year, detailed P6 scheduling, formulation of variance analysis and monthly status reporting for DOE.
Before working for the DOE, Matt was in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist on AC-130 Gunships working on the 105mm, 40mm, and 25mm guns stationed in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Throughout his time in the Air Force, he traveled to many different countries and state missions.
