On Dec. 6, 2022, the Office of Technology Transitions will host two virtual information sessions for undergraduate college students looking to become the next generation of clean energy leaders.

These programs are both great opportunities for STEM and business students to engage with the Department of Energy, learn about the latest energy tech, and create business plans to help move National Lab-developed technology into the marketplace.

OTT's Technology Commercialization Internship

2-3 p.m. ET, Paid Summer Internship Opportunity

The Technology Commercialization Internship is a unique opportunity to explore and contribute to advances at the intersection of business and innovative clean energy technologies. Interns undergo intensive training to boost entrepreneurial thinking and explore market opportunities.

This internship focuses on the business side of technology commercialization where interns will learn skills such as customer discovery, value propositions development, and market sizing. Students will be paired with cutting edge technologies at National Labs in fields spanning machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, biofuels, and more.

EnergyTech UP

3-4 p.m. ET, Pitch Competition for Cash Prizes

In the EnergyTech University Prize, student teams compete for $370,000 in cash prizes for successfully identifying a promising energy technology, assessing its market potential, and creating a business plan for commercialization.

EnergyTech UP aims to cultivate the next generation of energy innovators while accelerating the transfer of energy technologies to market. This prize seeks to attract the talented students of today and help them develop into the engineers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, market analysts, and project developers of tomorrow.
