The Office of Science supports research in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, through competitively selected awards to over 300 colleges and universities, non-profit and for-profit research organizations, and at all 17 of the DOE national laboratories. Research funding is awarded through SC’s research program offices and the Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer Programs.
