Deion Lemelle is an eight-year operations and policy professional with experience in political and nonprofit organizations, business, and higher education. He previously served as Assistant Director at the University of Chicago Center for Effective Government, worked as Special Assistant and Engagement Manager at Win the Era, and worked as both a Principal Scheduler and Principal Travel Manager for Pete Buttigieg’s presidential primary campaign.

Deion also served in the United States Navy for more than two years, having been a Student Naval Aviator until his medical disqualification from flight training in 2017. He holds a Master's of Public Policy from the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy and a BS in Aerospace Science Engineering from Tuskegee University. He is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) private pilot, FAA advanced ground instructor, and FAA instrument ground instructor.
