An OHA Administrative Judge (AJ) denied a request for a security clearance filed by an individual who had been found to have an unspecified alcohol disorder. While the individual had become involved in Alcoholics Anonymous and attended an intensive outpatient program, the AJ found that the individual had only been abstaining from using alcohol for three months, and therefore it was still too early in his recovery to be assured of its permanence.
