FIA-19-0001 - In the Matter of Cause of Action Institute

On January 16, 2019, the Office of Hearings and Appeals (OHA) denied a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Appeal filed by the Cause of Action Institute (Appellant) from a final determination issued by the Department of Energy's Office of Public Information (OPI). On Appeal, the Appellant alleged that the OPI had not conducted an adequate search for responsive records. After review, OHA determined that the OPI conducted a search reasonably calculated to uncover the records requested by the Appellant. Accordingly, OHA denied the Appeal. OHA Case No. FIA-19-0001.
