The first Technical Review Committee (TRC) meeting for the National Transmission Planning Study is scheduled for Friday, May 20, 2022, from 12 pm to 3 pm ET and is open to the public.
About the TRC Meeting
The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Building a Better Grid Initiative will catalyze the nationwide development of new and upgraded high-capacity electric transmission lines.
As one of the first steps, DOE is conducting the National Transmission Planning Study to identify transmission that will: provide broad-scale benefits to electric customers; inform regional and interregional transmission planning processes; and identify interregional and national strategies to accelerate decarbonization while maintaining system reliability.
In this webinar, the National Laboratories will share project overviews and details on modeling activities, including:
- Transmission and generation system baseline
- Model linkages
- Capacity expansion methodology
- Scenario framework
