The 2016 Storage Plan Assessment, approved at the September 2016 meeting of the Electricity Advisory Committee, summarizes a review of ODE's energy storage plan strategies and activities, and includes recommendations that the EAC offers for the DOE's consideration as it continues to develop and implement its energy storage program, as authorized by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. The recommendations outlined in the report were developed through a systematic process undertaken in 2016 by the EAC, members of which represent a broad cross-section of experts in the electric power delivery arena.
