Industrial Demonstrations Program Local Engagement Opportunities

On March 25, 2024, the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) announced the selection of 33 projects under the Industrial Demonstrations Program to enter award negotiations. Local stakeholders will have substantive opportunities to engage with both DOE and the project teams, starting during the negotiation process and extending throughout the full lifecycle of each project. The scope of projects in the industrial portfolio vary widely. While each project will have a tailored community engagement process, the graphic below can be used as a guide. For more information about a specific project, reach out to the project point of contact or contact DOE at [email protected]

In addition to the opportunities described on this page, there are additional paths for engagement within the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process for each project. Learn more about NEPA here.

As part of the Department’s commitment to transparency, OCED will hold a series of virtual national, regional, and sector-specific briefings to provide information on the selected projects, OCED’s approach to clean energy demonstrations, opportunities for engagement, and sector-specific insights.
