Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations
December 21, 20232023 has been a transformative year at the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED). We are working to accelerate the deployment of clean energy technologies across the country and show how federal investment can reduce barriers for follow on investment and pave the way towards widespread market adoption and deployment. As we celebrate two monumental years at OCED following the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we reflect on the accomplishments we’ve made to help scale the emerging technologies needed to tackle our most pressing climate challenges and achieve our nation’s goals of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
To date, OCED has:
- Built a team of experts committed to rapidly reducing the technical, economic, and systemic uncertainties associated with clean energy technologies.
- Announced more than $21 billion in funding opportunities to demonstrate clean energy projects that will create new energy markets, reduce carbon emissions, and deliver reliable, affordable, resilient energy to all.
- Engaged community members, partners, experts, and leaders to establish strong, collaborative relationships that will move selected clean energy projects forward.
We are incredibly grateful for the collaboration, meaningful community engagement, substantial investments, and exceptional effort from everyone who has been involved in OCED’s work to date. It is thanks to this level of support that we can do this important work!
