Metallography examination of samples that may be metals, ceramics or plastics will be performed. Materials requiring further microscopic examination or metallurgical evaluation will be cut, if necessary, mounted in epoxy, ground and polished and may be etched. In addition, some samples may be treated with dye penetrant for detecting surface flaws.
