The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to administer Congressionally Directed Spending to West Virginia University to select, procure, install, and test a hardwood cross-laminated timber design. The proposal would be spread over five tasks. Tasks include procurement and installation of a CAD/CAM architectural design system, new testing equipment procurement and upgrades to the existing testing systems, procurement of the mass timber products manufacturing equipment, design and construction of pilot-scale mass timber demonstration models, and education, outreach, and technology transfer activities.
