The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) of the United States Department of Energy (DOE) prepared this final EA and issued a Finding of No Significant Impact based on that EA for APEX – Integrated Sustainable Battery Active Material and Precursor Production Plant Project (DOE/EA-2205), which assesses the potential environmental impacts of construction and operations of a proposed industrial scale facility (Project Apex) for production of sustainable, low-cost, precursor cathode materials to support domestic production of cathode active materials (CAM) for U.S. electric vehicle battery production.
