Welcome to our first edition of Minute with Mike! We'll be bringing you installments of conversations between Director Erin Whitney and Senior Advisor Mike McEleney on recent international engagements, history, and energy innovations in the Arctic.

In February, Secretary Granholm traveled to Iceland to launch the new U.S.-Iceland Energy and Climate Dialogue, which will include work streams on geothermal energy, carbon management, and hydrogen. In particular, Iceland and the U.S. will be working together through the U.S.-led 22 country Partnership for Transatlantic Energy and Climate Cooperation (P-TECC) to assist countries in Central and Eastern Europe to expand their capacity in geothermal energy to enhance energy independence and transition to net zero sources. Listen in on our conversation with Mike McEleney to get the inside scoop.

Plus, find out where to get the best hot dogs in Reykjavik (according to Mike) and learn about some Icelandic history.
