The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to the Atmautluak Tribal Utilities to install and integrate a battery energy storage system (BESS) for the village powerplant and install distributed electric thermal storage (ETS) units throughout residences in the Village of Atmautluak, Alaska. Award activities would include installing the BESS within an existing shed built in 2021, located adjacent to the Village’s power plant.
