The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to Viridos, Inc. (Viridos) to engineer a carbon-efficient algal biomass pretreatment and oil-extraction system for the production of sustainable aviation fuels. The award aims to perform experimental and conceptual process integration of algae-oil extraction as well as research and development tasks via laboratory and pilot-scale operations.
