What Is the ISEED Collaborative?
The U.S. Department of Energy's Industrial Sustainability, Energy Efficiency, and Decarbonization (ISEED) Collaborative will assist partners across the nation to help grow the readiness of the workforce in the U.S. industrial sector. The collaborative strives to prepare the next generation of industrial workers by providing specialized training and resources for current and future manufacturers.
What Will the Collaborative Produce?
Through the collaborative, selected groups will develop and disseminate training materials that support the American workforce, providing more pathways into the industrial sector and expanding energy efficiency practices. The resources will be available for workers at any level of training and education and are designed to empower learners to build the skills and knowledge they need to contribute to innovative and competitive manufacturing best practices.
The outcomes of the ISEED Collaborative will be to:
- Integrate energy efficiency principles into industry-focused training programs.
- Amplify and grow existing and proven programs addressing manufacturing workforce gaps and barriers.
- Make content accessible to students, trainees, workers, and employers.
- Support pathways for increased participation of underserved communities and underrepresented groups.
Who Are the Members?
The six organizations selected to be part of the ISEED Collaborative will receive funding, technical support, and guidance over the course of two years to develop and pilot solutions that can be scaled regionally or nationally, with broad sectoral coverage.
Members include existing organizations with established experience, networks, and/or industry reach that can be leveraged to encompass IEDO's technology focus areas.
The mix of ISEED Collaborative members selected will ensure that the final program deliverables embed sustainability and energy efficiency concepts into training materials and activities that can reach and support diverse new workers, incumbent workers, and workers transitioning from other industries. IEDO anticipates selecting additional members in the future.
